Energy is everywhere and we use it while doing everything – from cooking cakes to flying to the space. For example food contains chemical energy and our body saves it for future work and games. There are various types of energy:
- Energy of heat
- Light energy
- Kinetic energy
- Electric energy
- Chemical energy
- Nuclear energy
- Gravitational energy
As usual, electricity, that we use at home, is produced by coal burning, nuclear reaction our by a hydroelectric power station – these are energy sources.
They can be divided into 2 groups:
Renewable (sources that can be easy replenished) and non-renewable sources (sources that can’t be replenished). Both of these groups of sources can be used for secondary energy resources production, including electricity and hydrogen.
Renewable energy sources
- Solar energy
- Wind energy
- Geothermal energy received from the Earth's interior
- Biomass energy, received from the plants, including charcoal, ethanol received from crops, and biodiesel received from vegetable fat.
- Hydro energy produced by the help of hydroelectric power stations
Non-renewable energy sources
The main part of energy in Russia is produced by non-renewable energy sources:
- uranium ore
- fossil fuels
- nature gas
