The Visit of Representatives of Rosseti and Superox to International Testing Center Keri in South Korea

On June 8, representatives of ROSSETI and SuperOx visited the international testing center KERI (Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute) in the city of Changwon, South Korea. The delegation led by the Deputy Director General for Strategic Development of the PJSC "Rosseti" Evgeniy Olkhovich met with the President of KERI and the heads of units of this leading Korean Institute. During the visit, a productive exchange of views took place in the development of innovative technologies and deepening Russian-Korean relations. In particular, the sides noted the prospects of cooperation in the areas of automation, digitalization and the introduction of new technologies. The Russian delegation visited research units and testing pavilions of KERI. The delegation discussed the status of implementing the project: «superconductive fault current limiting device (HTS SFCL) of 220 kV». In May, the HTS SFCL made by SuperOx successfully passed the acceptance tests at KERI. Installation on the Moscow’s substation «Mnevniki" of the «United Energy Company" is scheduled for December 2018. The Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin said: «This promising technology ensures the super-reliability of the entire energy system. The absence of fault currents will allow prolonging the operation of the equipment, making it durable. And these are hundreds of billions of rubles in savings». A working group has been formed that will search for promising points for the integration of high-temperature superconductivity in the energy grid of Russia in the ROSSETI.
