Moscow, 03/03/2020 Evgeny Grabchak, the Deputy Minister of Energy of Russian Federation, held a meeting at 220/20 kV Mnevniki substation (UNECO grid company), where SuperOx 220 kV SFCL was recently put in a permanent operation. Almost 30 participants representing leading grid and generation companies and local authorities took part in the meeting. The results of 220 kV SFCL operation and outlooks for the use of SFCL technology in Russian grid were discussed.
After successful test operation throughout the last year, 220 kV SFCL at the Mnevniki substation was put in a permanent grid operation in December 2019. It is the first superconducting element of the Russian electrical grid. The technology is now approved for the grid use. Participants of the meeting discussed further actions to widen the use of the breakthrough SFCL technology in Russia.
