The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev Approves SuperOx's Project on Implementation of Superconductiong Fault Current Limiters in Russia
SuperOx, the resident of the Technopark «Slava", demonstrated the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev its manufacture of high-temperature superconducting wire and projects in which this product is used as a basic element. Since 2012 the company has become a key supplier of HTS wires in the Russian Federation and Europe.
SuperOx developed all the necessary technologiesIn order to organize the production of superconducting fault current limiting devices (HTS SFCL). In 2017, by a decision of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, a joint project with "United Energy Company" of HTS SFCL 220 kV was given the status of a national project of the Russian Federation.
The Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin reported to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on the progress of the current project : "This promising technology ensures the reliability of the entire energy system after a fault circuit, the reliability of equipment, durability. We will install it in the Mnevniki substation this year, then we pass to the ring of substations». The expected economic effect after installing all devices in Moscow’s substations exceeds 100 billion rubles.
